Poker League Event Structures

The inaugural season will consist of four $20,000 buy-in, rake-free Main Events — each with one of four distinct formats to test the complete skill set of the best live no-limit hold'em tournament players. Each Main  Event will also feature a six figure prize pool overlay. Season One will culminate in a League Championship freeroll event, in which the 27 players with the highest earnings during the regular season will compete for a $1 million purse. Each regular season event week will also include a Pro/Am qualifying event and a charity tournament, in addition to the $20,000 buy-in, rake-free Main Event.

The four Main Events will feature cutting-edge formats of No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament play, including a six-handed play event, a heads-up tournament with an innovative seeding structure, and a special multi-format tournament.

Players who do not qualify for a league card will have an avenue to play their way into the regular season Main Events.  Each tournament week will begin with a $1,500 Pro/Am event that will reward the top nine finishers with a temporary league card for that week’s Main Event. The nine Main Event buy-ins will be withheld from the Pro/Am tournament prize pool and the remaining prize money will be awarded to the top 10% of the Pro/Am players, including the players who are awarded the temporary league cards. The Pro/Am tournaments will be open to all players 21 years and older.

If a player who earns their way in to a Main Event through a Pro/Am goes on to win that Main Event, he or she will be awarded a 1-year card. That card will exempt that player for the remainder of the current season only.

If a player who earns their way in to a Main Event through a Pro/Am final tables the Main Event, he or she will be awarded a temporary exemption for the next Main Event only.
